Futures Lead at Forum for the Future
Alisha's work as a futurist focuses on the creative use of futures thinking to impact long term positive change, particularly around social justice and equality. She believes that foresight is a critical tool in addressing complex global challenges.
At Forum, Alisha leads the futures team in integrating futures tools and thinking into their work with partners. During her time at Forum her work has included projects on the future of food, consumer goods, cities, and democracy, among others. Depending on the project, Alisha uses tools such as scenarios, visioning, three horizons, trend decks, games, and immersions to structure creative thinking and create change. Bringing the future to life is an essential part of anticipating change as well as creating a preferred future. At Forum, Alisha is passionate about making their work accessible through the Futures Centre platform, and through sharing their work with the larger community.
In addition to her work at Forum, Alisha is a part-time faculty member at the Parsons School of Design at the New School, where she teaches the Futures Studies and Speculative Design Certificate, a program she helped develop. Alisha also leads the Diaspora Futures Collective, an online community of BIPOC futurists examining issues of equity and power in the futures field.

"I'm excited to bring tools and methods for collectively imagining preferred futures to the growing field of systems change. We must think about the future if we hope to change it for the better."
