Background

Jessica is originally from Mexico and has been a British citizen for over a decade. She is passionate about systems change and social justice.

Jessica is the founding director of Nexus Evaluation LTD, a consultancy company that maximises social impact and results for clients with the use of systemic, culturally sensitive and equitable approaches. Jessica has approximately 15 years’ experience at the nexus between a) monitoring, evaluation, research and learning (MERL); b) strategy; c) organisational development and knowledge management. Her work is known for the use of innovative and complex theory-based approaches, systems thinking and participatory methods to design, evaluate and learn from social innovations, large investments and development programmes – producing strategically and operationally relevant findings that help improve practice, decision making and learning.

As part of her work around social justice, Jessica uses equitable, diverse and inclusive practices, approaches and tools to help organisations and programmes transform themselves and the system for increased impact.

At the School of System Change

Jessica is a member of the MEL in Systems Change Inquiry Group hosted by the School of System Change in 2023. The inquiry group convened people specialising in monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) to co-produce thought pieces on what is emerging in MEL in the field of systems change as well as bridge traditional MEL with complexity-informed developmental MEL.
