Drosos Foundation

"This experience has reinforced our belief that real transformation happens when strategy is not only well-designed but also deeply lived, continuously evolved, and embedded in the way we work every day.” - Suba Umathevan, CEO of Drosos Foundation

About Drosos Foundation

Drosos Foundation is an independent, private not-for-profit foundation dedicated to shaping positive futures - for and with young people. Its vision is a world where all young people have the opportunity to realise their full potential and collectively contribute to a more equitable, sustainable, peaceful, and just society.

The foundation supports locally led initiatives fostering skills development, entrepreneurship, and the social and economic inclusion of young people and their communities - particularly those facing systemic barriers and situations of vulnerability. Founded in 2003 in Switzerland, Drosos Foundation is active in Egypt, Germany, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Switzerland and Tunisia.

Our work together

Since 2022, the School has worked with Drosos Foundation as a learning and practice partner to rethink its role in supporting change - not just through funding, but in how it works, learns, and collaborates. We accompanied Drosos Foundation through a process of organisational alignment that laid the groundwork for a global, yet contextually adaptable and flexible strategy across multiple regions.

Working at multiple levels - with leadership, and the entire team - we helped strengthen collaboration, shared decision-making, and adaptability, ensuring the foundation could balance global priorities with local needs and its proven contextually-driven approach.

At the same time, we supported Drosos Foundation in clarifying its role in the wider change ecosystem, helping it to make use of its experience, connections and position to become a systems convenor - actively connecting people, resources, and ideas across sectors to support deeper, long-term change.

Hear from Suba Umathevan, CEO of Drosos Foundation:

β€œAt Drosos Foundation, we are committed to driving meaningful, systemic change that is both globally aligned and locally rooted. Our strategic transformation has been more than just refining structures. It has been a deeply participatory journey, fostering a culture of learning, adaptability, and collaboration across all levels of our organisation and within the wider ecosystem we are part of.

"This process has been as much about how we work as what we do. We had the pleasure of working with the School of System Change, whose expertise and methodologies provided us with the right tools to challenge our thinking, integrate diverse perspectives, and apply systemic approaches in practice. Their guidance enabled us to move beyond traditional strategic planning, helping us cultivate a more agile, inclusive, and impact-driven organisation that not only delivers results but does so through reflective, co-creative, and adaptive processes.

"This experience has reinforced our belief that real transformation happens when strategy is not only well-designed but also deeply lived, continuously evolved, and embedded in the way we work every day.”

- Suba Umathevan, CEO of Drosos Foundation
